Mom Jeans — 03/22

March 22nd marked a journey through time for me, as the night unfolded with a nostalgic allure. Kicking off the evening's festivities was none other than the vibrant LA indie rock band, HUNNY. Their music, pulsating with energy and nostalgia, ignited a fervent spirit within the concert hall, sending attendees into a frenzy of jumping and cheers. While their stage presence may have leaned towards the subdued side, it did little to diminish the infectious and upbeat vibes emanating from from their songs.

Continuing the energetic atmosphere, Midwest emo sensation Free Throw surprised everyone as a last-minute addition to the lineup. Their emotionally charged performance captivated the crowd, each musician's face reflecting intense emotions.

Summer Salt brought a different vibe with their nostalgic sound, evoking a sense of summer and joy. Drummer Eugene Chung's constant smile throughout their set was a delightful surprise, showcasing the band's evident enjoyment of performing together. Chung's impressive drum solo later in their set, further highlighted his talent.

As the lights dimmed into a deep red hue, Cali's alternative indie rock band Mom Jeans took center stage. Their sound indie sound infused with a hint of punk perfectly meld together in such a unique sound. The crowd went wild, with mosh pits forming and crowd surfers adding to the chaos. The band's dedicated fans ensured there wasn't a dull moment, creating an exhilarating experience whether in the pit or amidst the crowd. Although this is not the first time I’ve had to evade the upcoming feet of crowd surfing fans while also maneuvering between security and other photographers, I can confidently say that it just made the experience even more interesting. The symbiotic energy between the band and the audience elevated the entire performance and was intoxicating.
